  • Nominations Now Open for the 2020 Emerging Leaders Conference
  • CHICAGO- The American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA), the Insurance Careers Movement (ICM), and AM Best, today announced that nominations are open for the Emerging Leaders Conference to recognize the brightest rising talents in the insurance industry. Once selected, the nominees will be invited to an exclusive executive development and networking event, which will be held February 23-25 in Austin, Texas.

The Emerging Leaders Conference was formed to help identify, inspire, and retain rising stars in the insurance industry. The Emerging Leaders Conference provides accelerated professional development by C-Suite executives and networking in a vibrant environment. Watch now the powerful 2019 keynote addresses, fireside chats and panel discussions here http://amb.brightcovegallery.com/elc

“The conference is multi-dimensional, providing company CEOs a way to get involved in industry-wide recruitment and retention. These up and coming leaders will receive executive training from top industry icons, giving emerging leaders new perspectives on industry challenges, opportunities, and enterprise-wide leadership. The conference will provide networking opportunities, and participants will be encouraged to serve as champions for the industry,” said Marguerite Tortorello, president of Tortorello Communications and one of the founders of the Insurance Careers Movement.

“AM Best is a proud supporter of not only this conference but of the Insurance Careers Movement. AM Best is committed to driving innovation in the industry and addressing the talent challenges. The Emerging Leaders Conference recognizes those who have a deep passion for our industry and those who will one day be in the c-suite,” said Matt Mosher, executive vice president, AM Best.

“The inaugural Emerging Leaders Conference exceeded our expectations,” added Jessica Hanna, senior vice president of public affairs for APCIA. “This group was dynamic and talented, making major contributions within their organizations. And importantly, these leaders are enthusiastic to tell the industry’s good story of helping families, businesses, and communities. APCIA is proud to be a founding member of the Insurance Careers Movement, and looks forward to building a new network of insurance leaders with great passion and vision for the future. “

The comments from last year’s attendees highlight the powerful impact of the Emerging Leaders Conference. Read how they would describe the conference:

    ·         “One of the most inspiring events I have ever attended, and an absolute catalyst for my career.”

    ·         “This was very motivational and gave great insight as to how some of the best CEO's and other C- suite executives are running their businesses. I got great insight on how to better myself, manage others and take my company to the next level through better leadership.”

    ·         “It was the best conference I've ever been to. Finally--an opportunity to collaborate with my peers who are not necessarily doing the same work I am. Somehow the content was relevant to everyone. The conference added value because it addressed how we approach our work, and how we lead the work, as opposed how to actual DO the work. It was upbeat, energizing, and rewarding. I've already started applying some of the concepts.”

    ·         “Thank you for the amazing experience at the Emerging Leaders Conference, and your commitment to cultivating the next generations of insurance professionals.  During my 17 years in the insurance industry, this conference is one of the top that I’ve attended.”

The nomination deadline is Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019.
