A recent poll found that Americans view Las Vegas as very walkable cities, but also one where you are likely to witness a high number of distracted pedestrians — people walking while using a cellphone or other electronic device. PCI’s Vice President State Government Relations Mark Sektnan wrote that the Las Vegas-Henderson area already contends with traffic tie-ups, construction, poor road conditions and distracted, drivers. The increase in pedestrians glued to smartphones puts themselves as well as motorists in greater danger. All of these conditions are contributing to a recent surge in auto accidents and injuries, he said. Read More
