PCI Elects New Officers to the Board of Governors at Annual Meeting

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI) elected new officers to its Board of Governors today during the association’s Annual Meeting. Terrence W. Cavanaugh, President and CEO of Erie Insurance Group, was elected as PCI’s chair; Jim Wallace, Chairman, President and CEO of GuideOne Insurance, was elected first vice chair; and John Barbagallo, President, Commercial Lines Group of Progressive Insurance Group, was elected second vice chair.

“PCI relies on the expertise and insights our Board of Governors have developed from years of experience in the industry. We welcome Terry to the helm, along with Jim and John, to guide PCI as we work to secure reauthorization of the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act before it expires at the end of 2014, push back on bank-centric global regulatory convergence, and support innovations in technology,” said David Sampson, PCI’s president and CEO. “These disruptive forces have profound implications for the property and casualty industry. While disruptive transformation certainly presents challenges it also creates opportunities for those who anticipate what’s coming, think strategically and position their organizations to be agile and re-invent and we look forward to engaging with our newly elected board leadership on these important issues.”
